Olive Bean has great coffee and a wonderful healthy food selection on the menu. The atmosphere is laid back with a great porch out front. Try the smashed avocado!
This location has housed numerous different eateries over the course of the 20 years I've been on Signal. This is far and away the best! The new owners have done a splendid job renovating the interior in modern fashion complete with wifi but in keeping with the period of the original general store from the 1920's. The food here is impeccable and the ice cream is delicious and a delightful remembrance of the by-gone era of being social. This is what Signal has been needing for years!
It made my whole family feel very uncomfortable and I could not even eat the food I ordered. It is unbelievable that any restaurant owner would treat a customer with such disrespect. We will not go back. It is sad because the atmosphere is good and the food is pretty good too.
Olive Bean is the place you can go to grab a lunch to catch up with friends, grab some groceries you need, enjoy music on Saturday nights and a cooking class on Thursday and always enjoy yourself. It is a great spot for date nights and is very kid friendly. The food is great and the products are fantastic. The best thing about the place? EVERYTHING! Love this place. The owners make you feel like family and are always finding new things to do to make us love it even more. Signal Mountain would be lost without the Olive Bean.
My wife's parents joined us for church today and we wanted to go somewhere for lunch. We decided to go to the olive bean. This was our second time to go and we thought the food was very good. The service was slow, but it was small and quaint so we understood. We sat outside and it was pretty nice. Today we had a party of 7 and it was raining so we decided to sit inside. They had a 3 tables pushed together with too many seats, so I decided to separate one of the tables in an effort to help them seat more people. As I started to move one of the tables, a lady (the owner I guess) came over immediately and told me to stop. She said, "don't move the furniture you will scratch my floors." Of course this came across extremely rude and an was a uncalled for overreaction! During the ordering process (at the counter), the same person took our order. She said she had to start with the drinks and asked what I wanted. I said I wanted an "Izzy" soda from the cooler -- She quickly responded "then go get it!"
Really nice and relax place with a lot of delicious things to drink and eat!
