My first contact with Lois Killebrew was from out of state. We needed to rent sight unseen. Lois was extremely warm and inviting, just bursting with southern hospitality! Our Signal Mountain rental was clean, safe and family friendly. We rented from her company, the Mountain City Management Company for two years and if we needed any repairs, they were quickly addressed. Lois Killebrew's front office staff are efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, we had to leave Ms. Killebrew and Signal Mountain, TN due to work relocation.
One star is a stretch. The only good thing about this company is Angie. She is an angel. She does 95% of the work and you can tell she is frustrated with the owner/ her boss but can't say anything because it's her job. She actually told me "she" is very hard to work with. Anyways, worst experience ever. You will never get in touch with Ms. Killebrew as she never answers her phone and keeps her voicemail full. When you finally do, she says she will call back or refers you back to Angie. We spent about 2 weeks dealing with a maintenance issue (broken AC unit), back and forth with the "property manager" AKA Angie, until finally we just scheduled our own people to come out and fix it in less than an hour. We took it off our rent and Begged them to fight us. They never did. Probably because they never even tried/cared about our broken AC. Don't get me started on the weeks long squirrel in the attic or them trying to keep the ENTIRE security deposit after we cleaned TWICE and it looked better than when we moved in! Moved in with carpet covered in dog hair, broken blinds, crumbs in the refrigerator, literally. We were desperate at the time after the East Ridge floods but soooo learned our lesson. RENT/GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Professionalism & honesty are not words I would use to describe this company.
Moved to Tennessee form out of state. Long story short I didn't look at the property in person before I got there and it was a dump. Spent two years renting the dump that they never maintained until I eventually purchase the home back in my hometown. They refused to give back the deposit never gave me an itemized list of why and claimed it was our fault for the house being run down. Even though I have before and after pictures that clearly show it was nicer when we left. If you're going to rent from these people find yourself a good lawyer first. I'll be up there in the Fall because I had to find a lawyer.
Lois and her staff are very easy to work with! They have your best interest in mind when you are selling your home, helping you buy your house, and managing your rental company. I have met with many realtors and never felt like I could have made a better decision to have worked with Mountain City Realtors!
